One Challenge

Blog about that "One Challenge" that you or your family/friends will have to face in the next four years. Whether it is Professional, or Economic, or Cultural, or Political, or Social, or Environmental, I want you to explore that problem and articulate not only how it will affect you, but how it will affect the world around you. Why is this a social/cultural/professional/economic/or environmental injustice? How can we curb this injustice before it comes to the forefront? What can we do as citizens?

The one challenge I will have to face in the next four years is the continuation of abortion under the pro-choice idealism. This problem effects me because as a devout, practicing Catholic me along with my parish oppose abortion completely. By allowing abortions to continue, we believe an act of murder is being committed. This also effects the world around me because if abortion is allowed to continue, more people become responsible for murdering the unborn and also because abortion allows people to become irresponsible. It is a well-known and well-taught fact that sex can result in pregnancy. If people make choices like having unprotected sex or casual sex while knowing the consequences of their actions and are allowed to then "erase" their mistakes by killing the unborn, we're promoting irresponsibility. This is a social injustice in that regard as well as a moral injustice based on the fact that it's murdering a human life, whether unborn or not. We can curb this injustice by protesting at abortion clinics, getting our voices heard by those in power to make the ultimate decision for pro-life.
